Genesis chapter (8) eight



Genesis 8:1
And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;

So it says here that The Most High remembered Noah, his family and  the animals in the boat, so he sent a wind to make the waters decrease.

Genesis 8:2
The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

So here we see that The most high stopped the rain from heaven.

Genesis 8:3
And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

So this is saying that the waters receded consistantly up until 150 days, which is equal to five months, then the waters subsided.

Genesis 8:4
And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

So it says that on September 17th, the boat rested upon a mountain called Ararat; which is in the middle east.

Genesis 8:5
And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

So here it says that the waters decreased consistently until December 1st, then were they able to see the tops of the mountains.

Genesis 8:6
And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:

So this is saying that after roughly a month and 10 days, Noah opened the window of the boat.

Genesis 8:7
And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

So this is saying that Noah sent out a type of bird called a raven, it made trips back and forth until the waters were dried up from the earth.

Genesis 8:8
Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;

So we see here that Noah sent another type of bird called a dove, to also check to see whether the water had decreased.

Genesis 8:9
But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

So this is saying that the dove; that Noah sent, came back because she could not find a place to rest on the earth because of the waters.

Genesis 8:10
And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;

So here we see that Noah waits a week before sending the dove again.

Genesis 8:11
And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

So it says that when the dove came back with an olive leaf in the evening, Noah knew that the waters were diminished from off the earth.

Genesis 8:12
And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

So it says that Noah waited until a week again then sent the dove but it did not return.

Genesis 8:13
And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

So this is saying that on the 600th and 1st  year on March 1st, the waters were dried up and Noah saw it when he removed the covering of the boat.

Genesis 8:14
And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

So here we see that on April the 27th, the earth was dried up.

Genesis  8:15-16
[15] And God spake unto Noah, saying,
[16] Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.

So here, The Most High is telling Noah to go out of the boat with his family.

Genesis 8:17
Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

So The Most High continues by saying that; Noah should bring all the animals out of the ark as well so that they reproduce and bring forth much offspring to fill the earth.

Genesis 8:18-19
[18] And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:

[19] Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

So we see here that all including Noah, his family and the animals went out of the ark.

Genesis 8:20
And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

You can see this information throughout the bible in places such as Exodus 27:1, Exodus 20:24, Deuteronomy 27:5-6.

What is a burnt offering?
 A burnt offering is a sacrifice  of usually an animal : you can find this in Leviticus 1:3,
If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary : will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.

See also Leviticus 9 -10.

Genesis 8:21
And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

So here we see that; The Most High smelt the smell of the burnt offering and promised that he would not curse the ground again or kill all the living because of man, stating that all men are evil from birth.

Genesis 8:22
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

So here we see,The Most High is proclaiming that all the signs and seasons will continue as he created them, day, night, spring, summer, fall and winter shall not stop.

What is seedtime?
 Seed time refers to the time when one tills or plows the ground to plant.
 You can find these examples in scriptures like Genesis 45:6 and Exodus 34:21 and is also referred to as Earing time.

What is Harvest? 
Harvest refers to the time when you reap of the crop that you planted.
 You can find this in Leviticus 19:9 and Leviticus 23:10.

Genesis chapter (6) six

Genesis 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, So we see here that the inhabitants of the earth were increasing at that time and daughters were being born Genesis 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. Who are the sons of The Most High? Genesis chapter (7) seven

   Genesis 7:1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. So this is saying that, The Most High asked noah to come into the boat that he had prepared for The Most High deemed him righteous : meaning a commandment keeper according to  Deuteronomy 6:25 which reads, And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us. To be righteous is also when you believe in Themosthigh and act accordingly :  in Genesis chapter 15:6 it reads, And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
